The Arlberg is no ordinary ski resort — it is the cradle of alpine skiing. Since 1901 St. Anton am Arlberg has been making history: Austria's first ski club, the first ski race in 1904, the first ski school in 1921. Today the Arlberg ski area connects St. Anton, St. Christoph, Lech, Zürs, Warth and Schröcken into one of the world's largest and most famous ski regions.

Hoher Riffler
Hoher Riffler — The Home Mountain
At 3,168 m, the Hoher Riffler is the highest peak of the Verwall group and the defining home mountain of Pettneu am Arlberg. It towers directly above the village and frames the view from every apartment. For experienced mountaineers it is the goal of a demanding summit hike from Pettneu — around 2,000 metres of ascent, breathtaking views, and a summit panorama stretching all the way to the Silvretta.
